Promise Auction Rules:

Items will be sold on the night either by proxy or in person to the highest bidder.

The auctioneer’s decision on the successful bidder is final.
Some lots have had a reserve placed on them and if the bidding does not reach that reserve, the lot will be withdrawn.
Bidding will be by raising a hand so that the auctioneer can see it.

There are 3 ways to place a bid:
· by attending the event and bidding in person, or,
· placing a bid onthis website, in which case someone will bid on your behalf at the auction. This is referred to as 'Bidding by Proxy'
· by phoning Sally (07747614002) again this is Bidding by Proxy.

Bidding by Proxy - Your bid will be kept confidential and a member of Blackthorn Social Committee will bid at the event itself on your behalf. In placing a bid, you are instructing us to bid ‘up to’ but not over the given amount.

Bid Precedence – For bids placed via the website, if two or more bids are for the same bid price, the bid placed first on that lot takes precedence.

Bid Prices – Bids must be placed in whole pounds.
Lot Description – Lot items are ‘sold as seen’ based on the description of the item in the auction catalogue. Blackthorn Social Committee accepts no responsibility for any of the Promises auctioned.

Auction Closing – Bids by proxy must be received by 4pm on Saturday 22 September 2012. Any bids received after the closing date and time will be disregarded. We cannot be held responsible for the non-receipt of any bid. We reserve the right to close bidding by proxy prior to the posted closing time and will post notification of this on the homepage of www.willowpond.co.uk

Notification – Blackthorn Social Committee will endeavour to notify successful bidders not attending the auction within 24 hours of the auction event. Some lots will be available at the time of the Auction, others will need to be by arrangement, in which case successful bidders will be given the contact details of the donor.

Payment - Settlement of successful bids must be made within 7 days of the auction by cheque made payable to ‘Blackthorn Village Hall’ and sent to: Blackthorn Social Committee Treasurer.
In the event of any circumstances beyond our control, the auction will be postponed to a later date and all bids that have been placed will be disregarded.

Placing a bid constitutes acceptance of the above Auction Rules. Please bid responsibly.

Happy Bidding!
